Architectonics of Self: Women and Architectural Objects explores the notion of women as visionaries in the creative industry of architecture. Historically, the field of architecture has been male-dominated. Women were “hidden from history” (Penny Starke) and not recognized for the diverse ways that feminine practice impacted architectural design. These concepts are explored in my latest series of monotypes, which explores the idea of “thinking spaces”, where ideas germinate and flow out from the tops of the heads of the women portrayed and the architectonics of self: the comprehension and construction of vision.
