In May 2007, I had the unique opportunity to spend a month in China as a participant in the first International Printmaking Exhibition in China. Part of my time there was spent at the Sanbao Ceramic Art Institute where I created porcelains with my own images as surface design. My inspiration was the Beijing Opera presentation at our exhibition opening in Jingdezhen. I used cut pieces of the Chinese sign for “Double Happiness” to create elaborate headpieces for faces from my previous prints.

Several months later, I collaborated with a pottery studio in the town of Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico and created, “Bienvenidos”, an edition of hand painted dinnerware.
